Finally the worlds only fireplace TV wall mount designed to pull out and then to swing downward. This incredible bracket fits 32" - 65" LED, 32" - 63" LCD and 32" to 60" Plasma televisions weighing 110 lbs or less. In most homes today the fireplace is the natural focal point, which makes mounting a flat panel above the fireplace an ideal location. Unfortunately, above the fireplace isn't the most ergonomic position for Television viewing. With our new fireplace Mount your LED LCD or Plasmas flat panel can be stored above the fireplace and when needed it can be pulled down easily for a more comfortable viewing experience. Another common feature of fireplaces is the mantel, for any other mount that goes directly up and down, the Television can not get past the mantel. The engineer of this fireplace TV mount solved this issue by having a circular motion instead of a linear motion. The circular motion allows the flat panel to move around the mantel so that a comfortable viewing position can be reached.

Above Mantel Mounting

 

To get as much downward travel as possible when mounting above a mantel it is very important that you put extra thought into the mounting process.  In general, the higher the Down and Out Mount is above the mantel the more downward travel you will get.  Also, the lower the television is attached on the mount, the higher the Down and Out Mount can be mounted to the wall.  

 

The table and drawing below can be used together to figure out how much downward travel you will get with different mantel depths and heights above the mantel.  The smaller table tells you the minimum height the television needs to be mounted above the mantel.  

 

For example, you want to find the downward travel [T] when you have a 9 inch mantel depth [D] and you mount the bottom of the mount 5 inches above the mantel [H].  First find the corresponding [D] and look down the column and find the closest [H], which in this case is 5.75 and 4.75.  Round up to be on the safe side to the 5.75 inches [H].  Now go left along the row and find the corresponding Travel [T].  In this case you will get a downward travel of at least 25.5 inches.  

 

Figuring out the clearance needed between the bottom of the television and the mantel in the up position to ensure the television will not hit the mantel is much easier.  Simply find the mantel depth [D], in this example 9 inches, and go down the column and find the corresponding height, which is 2.75 inches.

We have been searching for a bracket to hang our 55" Samsung over the fireplace. When we set the TV while on its stand is was easy to see that we needed a mount that would lower it down some below the mantel. Our living room is narrow and we new that looking upward for long periods of time would soon wear on us.

A friend refereed us to Wall Mount World that they had a bracket that may be what we need. We purchased the mount an after installation was very pleased with the results. The bracket itself is well made and the perfect match for our TV.

We recommend this wall mount to anyone who has a fireplace and is looking for a mount that lowers and raises back up.
