Our original TV was 32" and fit perfectly in the center cabinet of our custom wall unit. About 5 years ago we bought a 46" Sony flat screen but had to change our entire room to accommodate the TV.  We bought a console to place the TV on and our wall unit was no longer the focal point.  Never really cared for this arrangement.  In my mind I always questioned why I couldn't buy a portrait/landscape rotation articulating mount...well, I just did and I LOVE IT!!  Could not be more pleased with the great service.  I highly recommend Wall Mount World.
